Body Mass Index (BMI) definitions

       • less than 18.5 is underweight
       • 18.5 to 24.9 is normal
       • 25 to 29.9 is overweight
       • 30-35 is moderately obese
       • 35-40 is severely obese
       • Greater than 40 is morbidly obese
       • Greater than 50 is super morbid obesity


Ideal body weight is the following:

Female - 5' = 119 pounds (add three pounds for each inch above)

Male - 5'3" = 135 pounds (add three pounds for each inch above; divide by 2.2 for kilograms)
